About TB Oliver...

Hello! We’re TB Oliver – a local, family-run garage based right here in Denholm. We’ve been keeping vehicles on the road since before 1919, and while a lot has changed over the years, our values haven’t. We still believe in honest advice, quality work, and looking after our customers like part of the family.

The garage was first run by Thomas B. Oliver – my grandfather – who brought motorcycles into the business back in 1919. In those days, we also offered a wedding taxi service and pick-ups from the nearby train stations!

My dad, Jim Oliver, took over the reins next. He was passionate about both modern and classic bikes and cars, and really helped shape the business into what it is today. Jim had a real love for road racing and supported several riders over the years, including the late, great Steve ‘Hizzy’ Hislop – who actually started out as an apprentice right here at the garage. We’re proud to have played a small part in his incredible story.

These days, the garage is run by me, Wendy Oliver – and while the vehicles might be a bit more modern, our commitment to great service remains exactly the same.

We work on just about everything: three-wheelers, cars, 4x4s, light commercials, and of course, motorbikes. Whether it’s an MOT, a service, diagnostics or a full repair, you’ll find us in the heart of Denholm, ready to help.

Meet the team...

Brian Blackwood – Foreman

Brian’s been with us for years and knows his way around just about any vehicle that comes through the door – whether it’s a modern motorbike, a classic car, or something a bit unusual! Motorcycles are his real passion, and he even spends his spare time restoring old bikes and cars. He’s MOT qualified for Classes 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Robbie Anderson

Robbie is MOT qualified in Classes 1, 2, 3 and 4, and he’s our in-house diagnostics whizz. His knack for pinpointing problems (and fixing them fast) is a real asset to the team. With up-to-date diagnostic tools for all vehicles – including specialist TEXA diagnostics for most bikes – Robbie helps us stay ahead of the game.

Jimmy Boland

Jimmy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, especially when it comes to cars. MOT qualified and always happy to help, he’s a valued part of the TB Oliver team.

Harry Oliver

Our newest recruit, Harry, is currently in his second year of apprenticeship and absolutely flying through it – he even passed his full bike test recently! Once qualified, he’ll move into MOT testing, just like the rest of the team. He’s a keen car driver and motorcyclist and is already training in diagnostics – including the electric side of things as more EVs come our way.
